Our Preschool room is a comfortable and creative space, accepting of all children aged three to four. We aim to raise standards across education and inspire children to become lifelong learners. There is so much knowledge in the world, we are all experiencing something new every day! We hold individuality in high esteem, and every child, regardless of ability, is treated as such – an individual. We cater to every child’s needs, and they are very much in control of their own education. They move at their own pace, choosing their own activities and exploring their curiosity in their own time.
Our children learn so many important lessons at this early stage in their life and education, but above all we focus on fun, friendships and laughter. Our Pre-schoolers always wear a smile. In order to cover all areas of development, we plan and teach a wide variety of sessions and activities. Our children have the opportunity to explore a vast range of learning experiences including messy play, arts and crafts, music and movement, physical education, phonics, numeracy time and exploration. We choose our specific activities predominantly relating to the children’s current interests, as this fuels their enthusiasm and helps to build upon existing skills as well as forging new ones.
About our Pre-school Classroom
We strive to keep our room colourful and exciting to attract and keep the children’s interest and to make our room a stimulating place to learn all year round. Generally, we focus on a new topic every term, which is reflected in our displays and roleplay area. Our room has been transformed into a jungle, a fairy forest, a fairy tale village, an underwater cave and a sunny beach. All of these have been thoroughly enjoyed by the children, who have relished taking on different roles and carrying out new and different activities.
Our lessons and activities are planned following an “in the moment” style. This keeps the learning fresh and relevant. Planning is updated every day, allowing for carefully crafted learning opportunities and consistent assessment of children’s development. Alongside our daily planning, we carry out opportunities for continuous provision – an opportunity for children to advance their learning. We plan separately for phonics, following an “letters and sounds” inspired curriculum which involves a range of movement, dance, song and writing. All our planning is on display and available for parents. They are welcomed and encouraged to have their own input, which we greatly appreciate.
Overall, our Preschool provides an inclusive environment with activities and sessions to suit all. We care deeply about children’s attainment, life skills and their emotional wellbeing, of which we support and enhance. Everyone is welcome to join us for an exciting and memorable time, every day!
What is the 15 & 30 Hours
Free Early Education (F.E.E)?
All 3 and 4-year-olds and some 2-year olds in England are currently entitled to up to 15 hours a week free childcare for 38 weeks of the year (during school term-times). All children in England get 570 free hours per year. We spread this free entitlement over 12 months (instead of 38 weeks), to help spread the savings throughout the year.
You may be able to get up to 30 hours free childcare (1,140 hours per year, which you can choose how you take). The ‘30 hours free childcare’ scheme is great news for eligible families, who could claim up to double the amount of free childcare they are currently entitled to. This could take your free childcare entitlement from 570 hours a year up to 1,140 hours a year. If you’re eligible for the extra hours, you can simply sign up online to get a code to give to us your childcare provider to reserve your place. You’ll get the extra hours once the next term starts. For more information please click on the 15hr or 30hr options.
